Description

For Miranda Kalli, a young, idealistic archeologist working in a Manhattan gallery of ancient art and antiquities, the invitation to participate in an archeological dig in the Aegean is irresistible, truly a gift from the gods.

But the Fates have other plans in store for Miranda.

A chance encounter with a delightful tourist results in a seemingly harmless prank - and inadvertently plunges her into a deadly web of corruption, danger and deceit that might well cost Miranda her life.

Taut with tension, bursting with passion, and sparkling with an insider's knowledge of the Aegean, Greek Winds of Fury sweeps you from a sculpture studio in ancient Greece to the present-day glitter of Manhattan, Turkey, Moscow, and those most spellbinding of jewels, the magical isles of Greece.

In MELTEMI (Greek Winds of Fury) Judith Gould once again triumphantly strikes the mother lode of story-telliing and proves that a novel can never have too much romance, suspense, exotic locales, deadly masquerades or sins.

The Meltemi is one of the legendary Mediterranean winds. Fiercely strong and dangerous, it funnels southward through the Aegean. The ancients called it the Etesian, and it creates adverse currents and wind velocities, which can range from four to seven on the Beaufort scale. In the region between the Dodecanese and Cycladic islands, the Meltemi can reach thirty knots and create wave heights of up to ten feet.

"Meltemi" can have various other definitions as well. It can be used to describe the unpredictable moods of a bad-tempered person, for instance, or even be used as the name for a swift vessel whose owner thinks it as strong or fast as the wind.

Judith Gould is the author of 18 sensational novels. SINS, her first novel, was the basis of the famed CBS television mini-series starring Joan Collins at the sensational height of her career following the massive hit series, Dynasty. The mini-series was used as a ratings booster for the network and aired during "Sweeps", the period of time upon which TV advertisement rates for networks were determined.

In 1993, Ms. Gould was the recipient of Romantic Times Magazine's REVIEWERS CHOICE AWARD for "Best Contemporary Novel" for FOREVER. Her novels have been translated into 24 languages. After living in Manhattan for over 25 years, Ms. Gould currently makes her home in the historic Hudson River Valley.

In Greek Winds of Fury, Judith Gould once again triumphantly strikes the mother lode of story-telling and proves that a novel can never have too much romance, suspense, exotic locales, deadly masquerades, or sins.
